Spinach chicken curry
Ingredients :-
1. Spinach - Blanced and pureed - 1 cup (Boil spinach leaves in water for 5 minutes and once it cools down make a puree of it.
2. Chicken - 500 gms
3. Onions - 1 big onion (Chopped)
4. Green chilies - 2
5. Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp
6. Garam masala - 1/2 tsp
7. Cumin powder, Coriander powder - 1 tbsp
8. Tomatoes - 1 big (Chopped)
9. Garlic - 3-4 cloves
10. Cumin seeds - 1/2 tsp
11. Red chilly powder - 1 tbsp#
12. Ginger and garlic paste - 1 tbsp
13. Kasturi methi powder - 1tsp
14. Cream - 2 tbsp (Optional)
Preparation Method :-
1.Take a pan, add oil to it. Once its hot add cumin seeds.
2. Add chopped garlic, green chilies. Saute for a minute.
3. Add chopped onions and saute it till they are slightly golden brown.
4. Add ginger and garlic paste. Fry it for 2 minutes till it turns light brown.
5. Add chopped tomatoes to it. Cover it and let it cook for 5 minutes.
6. Add turmeric powder, garam masala powder, red chilly powder, cumin powder, coriander powder and mix it well.
7. Add chicken to it. Cover it and let it cook for 15 minutes till it starts oozing powder. Keep stirring in between.
8. Fry it for 5 more, till it looses all water and chicken is more than half cooked.
9. Now add spinach puree and mix it well.
10. After 10 minutes, add kasturi methi to it.
11. You can cream to it before turning off the flame. Serve it hot with roti or naan.
Note :- This curry is for chicken with bones. But in case you are using boneless chicken then add chicken first and then tomato gravy, as chicken wont cook properly if tomatoes are added first.
