Cheese & spinach bread pakora


Preparation time : 1 hour

Ingredients:

1. Spinach - 1 bunch

2. Grated Cheese - 150 gms

3. Red chilly powder - 1/2 tsp

4. Turmeric powder - 1/2 tsp

5. Cumin powder - 1/2 tsp

6. Grated coconut - 1/4 cup

7. Garam masala - 1/2 tsp

8. Gram flour ( Besan) - 3 tbsp

9. Green Chilies - 2

10. Salt to taste (2 pinches)

11. Oil for deep frying.

12. White bread slices.

13. Carom seeds (ajwain) - 1 tsp

Preparation method:

1. Boil Spinach leaves for 5 - 10 mins and drain out water completely.

2. Press the spinach leaves after cooling down to remove left over moisture. 3. Chop spinach finely.

4. Take a pan and add little oil to it. Add chopped green chilies to it.

5. Add spinach to the pan and saute it.

6. Add turmeric powder, garam masala powder, cumin powder, red chilly powder to it and saute it again.

7. Add grated coconut to it and let it fry for 2 minutes.

8. Take the mixture in a bowl and add salt to it.

9. Once the mixture is cooled down add grated cheese to it. This will be the stuffing for pakora.

10. In another bowl, take gram four and add a pinch salt to it.

11. Add turmeric powder, red chilly powder, carom seeds and cumin powder to it.

12. Add water to it and make it a paste.

13. Now take 1 bread slice, sprinkle little water on it to make it wet and put the stuffing mixture on it.

14. Fold the bread on one side and again sprinkle little water to it while pressing it with the palm.

15. Now dip this folded bread into besan batter properly and deep fry in the oil.

16. Take out from oil once it turns brown. Be careful while holding the bread in batter and turning it in oil as it may break.

17. Serve hot with ketchup.
