Beetroot tikki


Preparation time: 1 hour

Ingredients:

1. Beet root - 1 big

2. Potato - 1 small or half big one

3. Salt to taste

4. Cumin powder - 1 tsp

5. Red chilly powder - 1 tsp

6. Coconut - grated - 1/2 cup

7. Coriander leaves - finely chopped

8. Ginger garlic paste - 1/2 tsp

9. Chat masala or amchur powder - 1 tsp

10. Corn flour - 1 tbsp

11. Bread crumbs - 1 cup

12. Mayonnaise

Preparation method:

1. Boil beet root, potato and corn in the cooker. Quantity of potato should be half of beet root quantity.

2. Once its cooled, grate beetroot and potato in a bowl.

3. Add salt, red chilly powder, cumin powder, grated coconut, boiled corn , finely chopped coriander leaves, ginger garlic paste, chat masala or amchur powder, corn flour and mix it well. Make sure there is no moisture in the mixture otherwise tikkis will break.

4. Now take any mould or a cookie cutter of any shape, stuff the mixture into that mould. Press it tightly so that it should not break.

5. Remove the mixture out of the mould carefully, here i have used a heart shaped cookie cutter.

6. Now take a pan and add oil to it to shallow fry tikkis.

7. Take tikkis one by one, coat them with bread crumbs and put it into the pan to shallow fry.

8. Fry them for 20 mins, turning once or twice, remove them once they are cooked.

9. Serve hot with mayonnaise .
