Prawns pulav
Ingredients:
1. Prawns - 200 gms or 2 cups
2. Whole garam masala - cinnamon stick - 1 inch, star anise - 3, bay leaf - 1, cloves -3
3. Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
4. Green chilies - 3
5. Onions - 1 chopped
6. Ginger garlic paste - 1 tbsp
7. Basmati rice - 2 cups
8. Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
9. Salt - 1 tbsp or as per taste
10. Red chilly powder - 2 tbsp
11. Water - 4 and half cups
12. Coriander leaves
Preparation method:
1. Soak basmati rice in water for 20 mins.
2. Take a cooker, add oil ti it.
3. Once oil is hot, add whole garam masala to it. Add cumin seeds and let them splutter.
4. Add green chilies and chopped onions. Let them fry till onions are brown. 5. Add ginger garlic paste and turmeric powder. Fry it till it starts sticking bottom of vessel.
6. Add prawns and salt, cover it and let it fry for 10 mins.
7. Add red chilly powder and mix it well. Let it fry for 10 more mins.
8. Now add water and let it come to boil. Check salt in water.
9. Add rice to water once it comes to boil.
10. Add chopped coriander leaves. Cover with lid and give it 3 whistles.
11. Once done, serve with raitha
