Basic chicken curry
Ingredients:
1. Chicken - 1 kg
2. Cumin seeds - 1 tsp
3. Green chilies - 3-4
4. Turmeric powder - 1/4 tsp
5. Ginger garlic paste - 2 tbsp
6. Onions - 2 big chopped
7. Tomatoes - 2-3 big chopped
8. Red chilly powder - 2 tbsp
9. Chicken masala - 2 tbsp (Optional)
10. Corianderpowder, cumin powder, garam masala powder - 1 tbsp each
11. Coriander leaves
12. Curry leaves - 7-8 leaves
Preparation method:
1. Take a vessel and add 5 tbsp oil to it.
2. Once oil is hot, add green chilies and cumin seeds. Let them splutter.
3. Add chopped onions and fry them till they turn golden brown.
4. Add ginger garlic paste, turmeric powder, curry leaves and fry it for 2 minutes.
5. Add chicken pieces and salt . Cover it and let it cook for 15 mins.
6. Open the lid of the vessel and let it cook in open till it oozes all water.
7. Once all water is gone, add red chilly powder. Mix well and let it cook for 10 mins.
8. Add chopped tomatoes, cover with lid and let it cook for 15 mins till tomatoes are mashed up.
9. It will again ooze little water, remove the lid, add coriander powder,garam masala powder, cumin powder and chicken masala and mix well.
10. Add little water if its sticking to bottom of the pan and let it cook for 10 more mins.
11. Check the salt and garnish with coriander leaves.
